This time I would like to share page 66 from Marie Claire October 2011issue. For couple years my looks is missing one particular type of sweater - a polo neck (UK) or turtle neck (US) or skivvy (Australia). I absolutely admire it's coziness, but it do confuse me when ever I would like to style up it in some look, because I have some weird association with it from 90's. When it was quite popular garment especially in- between Latvian market sales- woman. I said it is weird. They always pile up all gold chains on them like it would show their status. Tacky.
But this season it's intrigue me, because it's classic piece, saver from cold days and it seems it's back in trend. These 6 looks from Marie Claire inspired me to be more brave and try it.
Yesterday and today I feel worst, seems that this time I have to go through all cold course.I hope to be back on track till weekend. Lets keep fingers crossed.
Thank You all for your warm and lovely wishes. I send you my lovelies thoughts of beautiful, sunny days and lots of love!
Peace, joy and ♥
Hope you get well soon Ra! xo

ReplyDeleteroll- neck sweaters are my FAVORITE winter piece: I have a lot in colors, stripes, etc. They are easy to wear either with skirts or trousers!

I like those semi-turtlenecks, I don't know if u know them, the neck of the piece is half the size of the original one.
ReplyDeleteThe originals make me so warm in the winter.
Hope you feel better pretty soon Ra.
Take care.

ReplyDeletei like polo necks but they seem to shorten my already short neck since i'm not tall.
First look is my fave! Hope you will get better soon! :)

Get better hun! And those sweaters are wonderful!
ReplyDeleteTurtle necks have confused me as well. I like them on some sweaters but just in a shirt...not sure. Seems so old fashioned but they do look good on the right women. :-)

ReplyDeleteLai, nu, kas, bet bītlenes man nepiestāv! Man pazūd kakls un es kļūstu būdīgāka - nekādas grācijas. Es tā sasmējos par to salīdzinājumu ar tirgus sievām!
ReplyDeleteEs piedomāju klāt arī tās pufīgās turbāncepures ar brošu priekša! Tāda daile! :))
Mani tagad interesē kā Tu valkāsi bītlenes! ;)
Veseļojies! Ingvera tējas un siltas kājas!
Get better soon Ramona! I'm sorry you're not feeling well!

Turtlenecks have always been my winter staple. I grew up in a very cold place, so I wanted to get warmth any way I could, and rollnecks are great for that. Plus, they add a perfect dose of pretty preppiness to any outfit. I can't believe you don't have one, I think it's definitely time to include one in your wardrobe, they're so fun to wear. Maybe in a soft pink shade? I think it would look beautiful with your long blonde hair.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon, sweetie!
